The Magic Kingdom
October 26 and 27, 2016

Towards the end of October we took Bonnie Jane for her first trip to Disney World. We stayed in the Disney All Star Sports Resort in some rooms that were basic, but nice.

When we checked in on Wednesday there was a small problem at the counter, and the clerk there provided us two $50 meal coupons to make up for any inconvenience we had, as a was of Disney saying sorry that not everything was perfect. That worked out pretty good, because those meal coupons served us well over the next two days, saving us a fair amount of money.

Initially we headed out for Disney Springs, the current name for what used to be called Downtown Disney. Disney Springs has been renovated, with many, many new shops and greatly improved parking and transportation systems.

Our first stop was the Coca-Cola store, and on the third floor there we tried sampler trays of Coke products that are sold around the world. We had a good time doing our tasting, but we didn't find a whole lot that we liked better than what we have here. And, if you look at the picture below with Anne, you'll see there were a few we found rather nasty.

We looked at the stores and attractions, and walked through the Disney Store and also the Lego Store. And, of course, we had to eat at the Rainforest Café so Bonnie Jane could enjoy the animals and sound effects.

Later that day we toured the Contemporary Resort and rode the monorail to also tour the Polynesian Resort. Back at our resort we went swimming and we also got our dinner at the nice restaurant on the premises.

The next morning we headed out early for the Magic Kingdom. We spent the day riding rides, watching parades, and sampling the menus. Noteworthy was Rusty out-scoring Jay on Buzz Lightyear, but sometimes people get lucky. After about eight solid hours at the park, we were ready to return to our rooms. We again got food at the All Star Sports Resort Restaurant, and that worked just fine.

The next morning we slept in somewhat late, had a nice breakfast, and headed back towards Valrico. A good time.
