Braden Family Cruise on the Carnival Dream

Nassau - St.Thomas - St.Maarten
August 1-7, 2010
This was our second family cruise; the first was in August 2008 and it was four days. This was a seven day cruise on Carnival's largest ship, the Carnival Dream. We departed Port Canaveral on Saturday, July 31st. Nanny had come in from Indianapolis the night before and Robert, Natalie, and Benjamin came in from Atlanta that morning. The trip across to Port Canaveral was uneventful, and we were soon aboard. Our staterooms were great - all ocean view and all had two bathrooms, a real plus. We were all down on the Riviera Deck, about as low as you can be and still be a passenger. But who cares - just a chance for some exercise going up ten fights of stairs to the Lido Deck. Of course that works up an apetite for the free 24-hour-a-day ice cream that negates the whole process. Well, the ship was great, the food was too much, the shows were nice, the kids loved Camp Carnival, the stops were good in that we found things to do at each, the beach at St. Maarten was great, and the time passed too quickly.
