| This was a bucket list item: an Alaskan cruise. We shared this adventure with Tom and Marilyn MacIver, our long term friends. This was their first adventure with cruising. On May 14 Bonnie and I flew into Denver and were joined by Tom and Marilyn for the second leg of our flight to Seattle.We had great accommodations there thanks to Tom and we toured the city. The next day it was a short shuttle ride to Pier 91 and soon we were aboard and on our way. For the next seven days it was sightseeing and taking in the magnificent scenery. We toured Tracy Arms Fjord, rode a narrow gage railway, hiked the same trail that people used over 100 years ago in search of gold, rafted down a beautiful river, got up close to the Mendenhall Glacier, learned about native culture, saw numerous eagles in the wild, toured Alaskan towns, had our breath taken away by the snow-covered mountains. | ||
