Anne is employed by the School District of Hillsborough County in Tampa, Florida, as a Reading Coach for Temple Terrace Elementary. Previously she served as the Reading Coach for both temple terrace and Lewis elementary Schools. Before that she was a kindergarten teacher for Sessums Elementary for two years and for Yates Elementary School for four years. She serves on a number of county advisory committees regarding reading and teaching kindergarten students.
A Reading Coach trains teachers how to teach reading. Teaching a child to read is now much more of a science than an art, and Hillsborough County, like many school districts, has specified how reading should be taught in terms of what should be done and when. Additionally, Anne just earned a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Stetson University. This required that she traveled most Saturdays for a full year to the Town of Celebration near Orlando for her classes. When not teaching Anne maintains her condo in the area. It is in a good community, a two bedroom unit that she has fixed up to look very nice.
